"The affection for lightweight outdoor equipment comes from our desire to go faster, longer, and further. Ultralight gear changed the way we hike. A slow grueling pace and frequent rest stops are a thing of the past. Yet, the way we carry our gear has hardly changed in ages: everything is still in a backpack and out of reach.

If light, fast and nimble is the new way to hike, isn't it time to update the way we carry our gear as well? While the concept of a pack worn on the front is not novel, our design and implementation elevate the front pack to the plane of modern age of ultralight hiking."

Stuff you use to make camp goes in your backpack.  Stuff you use while hiking goes in your front pack.

EASY ACCESS ON THE GO: Many items are used on the move (e.g. snacks, hydration, map, phone, sun screen, bug spray, water filter, trail guide, compass, etc). Other items may be suddenly required in changing conditions (e.g. hat, gloves, rain gear, small clothing items, headlamp, first aid, etc). Now you can keep all these articles within instant reach on the go, and access all your essentials without breaking stride.

LOAD DISTRIBUTION: Take a few pounds off your back and put them to the front. This improves weight distribution around the torso resulting in better posture and a more natural and efficient walking position. On multi-day hikes, this small change can be a big difference offsetting cumulative soreness and fatigue.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Made from ultralight and durable Dyneema® Composite Fabric, our front packs deliver ample storage at a fraction of the weight of traditional materials.

WATER RESISTANT: The main front pack compartment is very water-resistant. So it is safe for keeping fragile items dry in rainy weather. The stretchy mesh pockets can be used for quickly stashing articles you frequently use, or general storage in fair weather.

COMFORT: Multiple adjustment points allow you to find just the perfect position. Instantly control how tight (or loose) it sits around you, so it will work against bare skin and bulky winter jackets alike. The back wall is very lightly padded, so it can hug your contours. For the same reason, however, it may be uncomfortable to carry large rigid items in these packs, as they can create awkward pressure points against your chest.

Our front packs work on virtually all modern backpacks!

Front packs are designed to work as a single unit with your existing backpack. The attachment points integrate right onto the shoulder straps of your backpack. Once installed, the front pack just clips in-and-out in a second. You can clip-out entirely or from one shoulder strap only, keeping the front pack attached while taking your backpack on and off.

Additional straps provided allow you to also wear the front pack directly on your torso; both with and without a backpack. Or just wear it on your back as a compact day-pack for short hikes around base camp.
